Most international students have already heard that 27 April is King’s Day and 5 May is Liberation Day in The Netherlands, but did you know there will be a huge party on 3 May as well? FC Groningen, the local professional football club has reached the final of the Dutch Cup! They will have a chance to win their first ever cup, but they will have to beat last years’ cup winner PEC Zwolle. Almost 20.000 fans will go to Rotterdam to watch the game, but for the ones who don’t have a ticket, there will be a big screen on Grote Markt to watch the cup final live. The game will start at 18.00, but the party will probably start hours before in the centre of the city. We asked some locals what they will do that day and if they expect Groningen to win…
