Claire Moreau goes out in Groningen, but nothing goes as expected…

A night out in Groningen, a few drinks and plans to hit the clubs. What could possibly go wrong?

The fifth episode of Claire Moreau Moves Abroad starts with Claire and her friends preparing for a night in Groningen. With spirits high and questionable drinks already making the rounds, the group heads into the city expecting an evening of parties and adventure.

Instead, the night takes several unexpected turns.

In Claire Moreau Is Going Out, conversations about home, family and life abroad gradually replace the original party plans. While Claire and her friends joke, argue and navigate the occasional awkward encounter, the episode also explores a feeling many international students know well: missing the people you left behind.

As the evening unfolds, Claire reflects on her move to Groningen and the relationships that have become important since arriving in the Netherlands. Along the way, she discovers that a successful night out does not always end in a crowded club.

Created by first-year International Communication student Alec Salomon, Claire Moreau Moves Abroad follows a French student during her first months in Groningen while a film crew documents her experiences for a fictional Hanze campaign. Throughout the series, Claire faces the challenges of international student life, from housing and jobs to friendships, relationships and adapting to life in a new country.

New episodes of Claire Moreau Moves Abroad appear weekly on YouTube until 1 July.
