Will Claire find a job in Groningen? Find out in episode 2 of Claire Moreau!
Finding housing is one thing. Finding a job in Groningen turns out to be something else entirely.
The second episode of Claire Moreau Moves Abroad follows Claire as she starts searching for a job in Groningen. After settling into her student house, the French exchange student quickly discovers that finding a job may be harder than she expected.
In Getting a Job, Claire spends her day handing out CVs and visiting businesses around the city. Rejection follows rejection, leaving her increasingly frustrated with the reality of student job hunting.
Fortunately, her housemates are ready with advice. While Claire worries about her lack of success, they encourage her to keep trying and suggest new ways to approach employers.
The episode takes a turn when one of Claire’s applications finally gets a response. Before long, she finds herself behind the bar on her very first shift, dealing with customers, learning the ropes and discovering that nightlife work comes with its own challenges.
Created by first-year International Communication student Alec Salomon, Claire Moreau Moves Abroad follows a French student during her first months in Groningen while a film crew documents her experiences for a fictional Hanze campaign. Throughout the series, Claire navigates the ups and downs of international student life, from finding accommodation and attending classes to building a social life and earning money.
New episodes of Claire Moreau Moves Abroad appear weekly on YouTube until 1 July.
