Merry Christmas! What are your wishes and taboos this festive season?

Christmas is around the corner—do students still have heartwarming Christmas wishes? And which topics are strictly off-limits at the dinner table?

Is politics a taboo, or perhaps your love life? And where are you celebrating Christmas? Dutch students didn’t have much to report this time, but the internationals certainly did. Their wishes varied wildly, ranging from world peace to world domination, but they quickly agreed on what not to discuss at the Christmas dinner: politics is a firm no-go.

If anyone still has a spare seat at their table, consider inviting an international student who’s stuck in Groningen, like the young man in our video. Many international students are forced to stay behind and often face a rather lonely Christmas.

Never mind the Dutch intro, most of the interviewees are internationals, so enjoy!
